Light of the weeeek

Long time no see! I'm still around and still looking at crap on the net though lately I've been busy with other things (life, work, etc etc). But alas, I will do my best to come back and post things on occasion.

Today, I bring you THE OWL LAMPS. I bought this one recently in Montreal, it is currently Lamp Shade Free as we can't seem to pick one we like.

Found via Urban Outfitters.

And after a bit of looking around via google, I also discovered that the Great Urban Outfitters in the US also has another cool owl lamp!
Found via Homebug.

The hunt for the perfect sofa continues.

Lamps aside (I'm obsessed, no?), I have actually been looking like crazy at sofas. Room and Board has been fantastic, they have sent me dozens (and yes, that is plural) of fabric swatches to aid in my decision making. Unfortunately, I'm overly paranoid about buying something off of the Internet and am also incredibly indecisive. No really, it's true. I think I have narrowed it down though to these two contenders, tell me what you think?

The first is the Anson sofa via Room and Board. We have a definate art deco look to our home so I really like the Anson sofa though the material I like on it would hit me at just under $2k US. I have no idea what shipping to Canada would be like but at least Room and Board is willing to help me out. Plus, I can double up and throw a chair or two in...

The second is the Spencer sofa via Style Garage. A Canadian company, woohoo! It also comes it at just under $2k CDN and they are more then happy to ship it up to OTown, though again I am sure that the shipping would be a bit brutal. I haven't checked out the fabrics yet though we have been talking about a road trip to check it out in person...

So which would you go for?

Candle holders via Etsy

Made by Etsy seller Made on Mariposa Avenue. The description says it all: These lanterns are meant to be set over tealight candles. In a dark room they can project their designs on the walls and ceiling. Each lantern is different as they are cut freehand, by my hands ... which can be unpredictable. They are made from recycled aluminum cans. This size stands about 7" tall and approximately 6 1/4" in diameter. Each lantern comes with two tealights and is wrapped in cellophane and ready to gift
